Recruitment

Hospitality recruitment in the UAE and the GCC

hotelplacement.ae recruits for hotels, resorts, restaurants and catering teams across the Gulf. Every applicant completes a short assessment built for the role they applied to, so hiring decisions start from evidence rather than a CV alone.

What we recruit for

Selection is organised around the role, not a generic screen. These are the areas most properties hire into through a season.

Front office and reservations

Check-in and check-out, rate and availability handling, upselling, complaint recovery.

Food and beverage service

Restaurant and banquet service, sequence of service, menu and beverage knowledge.

Culinary and pastry

Section work, hygiene practice, consistency and pace under service pressure.

Housekeeping

Room standards, productivity, linen control and lost property procedure.

Guest relations and concierge

Arrival experience, local knowledge, escalation and duty management support.

Stewarding and kitchen support

Food safety basics, chemical handling, equipment care and kitchen flow.

Events and banqueting

Set-up, timing, coordination with the kitchen and on-the-day guest recovery.

Heads of department and leadership

Rosters, cost control, team development and decisions under pressure.

Where we recruit

We work with hospitality employers across the six GCC markets. Each market hires differently, from pre-opening teams and bulk recruitment drives to single specialist appointments.

United Arab Emirates

Dubai and Abu Dhabi carry most of the region’s hotel, restaurant and catering hiring, alongside Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Jeddah and the Eastern Province, where hotel supply and food and beverage openings are expanding fastest.

Qatar

Doha, with a concentration of five-star hotels, serviced apartments and destination restaurants.

Kuwait

Kuwait City, a smaller market with steady demand for front office, food and beverage and kitchen teams.

Bahrain

Manama, where business hotels and waterfront resorts recruit for service and rooms divisions.

Oman

Muscat and the coastal resorts, where seasonal and permanent roles are both common.

For hotels, restaurants and caterers

A vacancy becomes an assessment definition: the competencies the role needs, the questions that evidence them and the weight each carries. That definition is versioned, so a change to a job description never invalidates an assessment a candidate already completed.

  • Role-specific assessment rather than an abstract test
  • Every candidate seen on the same competency set
  • Scores separated from interview judgement
  • Clear list of what the assessment cannot verify

  1. 1

    The vacancy sets the questions

The role, department and seniority decide which competencies are measured, so two candidates for the same job answer the same questions.

  2. 2

    Every applicant is assessed

Candidates verify their email and complete the assessment in one sitting before they reach a shortlist.

  3. 3

The shortlist is ranked on evidence

Applicants are compared on competency scores and role alignment rather than on how well a CV is written.

  4. 4

Interviews start with what is unclear

The report highlights which requirements are already evidenced and which to probe in interview or a practical trial.

Questions we are asked

Short answers about the markets we cover and how the assessment works.

Which countries does Hotelplacement recruit for?

Hotels, resorts, restaurants and caterers in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. Roles are advertised by market on the open roles page.

Is the assessment a personality test?

No. It is made up of scenario and judgement questions scored against the competencies the specific role requires, so it measures how someone handles the work rather than who they are.

How long does the assessment take?

Usually around twelve minutes, though it varies with the role. It is completed online straight after you apply and verify your email address.

Does it cost anything to apply?

No. Applying, being assessed and being considered for a role is free for candidates. There is no fee at any stage of the process.

Who can see my résumé and answers?

Résumés are stored privately and seen only by the recruitment team handling that application. Candidates reach their own application through a private link tied to their email address.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes. With a candidate account you can apply to several vacancies and follow each application and its current stage in one place.
